Eyelid Surgery Houston
Cosmetic eyelid surgery (aka Blephorplasty) treats upper and/or lower eyelids by removing excess skin and tissue to reduce the appearance of wrinkled skin and bags under lower lids, and decrease puffy and saggy upper lids. The result is a more alert, rested, and rejuvenated look. In some individuals, the lids may need additional tightening and repositioning to restore a youthful appearance.
The procedure length varies depending on the type of procedure required, ranging from 1 to 3 hours. The procedure can be performed under sedation or general anesthetic. Patients will experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising, possible temporary dry eyes and itching Patients can typically return to work after 1 – 2 weeks, often requiring makeup application to cover bruising.
Additional surgical risks will be discussed in detail during consultation.
If surgery is not for you consider non-invasive anti-aging procedures.
Please schedule a consultation with Dr. Carpin to discuss if you are a surgical candidate, and to review the risks, benefits, alternatives, and expected outcomes of the procedure.
