How Do I Know Which Body Procedure is Right for Me?

You can discover the perfect procedure or combination of body contouring procedures during your consultation with Dr.Carpin. During this visit, she will spend time listening to you describe your desired shape and overall appearance. You will discuss the specific areas that concern you and how you would like to improve upon them. Your consultation is a time to ask all of the questions you have, and a time for the doctor to listen, explain, and observe. Your physical examination will evaluate your body frame and the proportions that would be ideal for you. In performing these various steps, you and Dr. Carpin can come up with the perfect treatment plan to achieve your goals.

How Should I Prepare for My Plastic Surgery Procedure?

Once you schedule your plastic surgery procedure, it’s time to start planning! The purpose of pre-surgical precautions and preparation is to ensure that your surgery will be as safe as possible with the lowest risk of complications. Bleeding is one of the complications that you can manage by avoiding medications and products that thin the blood. We can discuss a more detailed list of items during your visit, but some common examples include aspirin, ibuprofen, and alcohol. In addition to avoiding certain substances, including tobacco, you can prepare your body for surgery by focusing on nutrition and hydration during the weeks before your procedure. Consume nutrient-rich meals with lean protein, healthy fats, and a lot of fresh vegetables. Drink at least 64 ounces of water throughout the day, every day. It can also be beneficial to engage in light physical activity at least four days a week to support optimal circulation.

If you have any questions as your surgery approaches, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.

Can You Combine Multiple Body Procedures?

Yes. Body contouring procedures are often combined to get even better results. You might choose to have two adjacent areas sculpted or have two procedures performed on one area. For example, liposuction is often combined with abdominoplasty or various lift procedures. In this way, the area is debunked of excess fatty tissue before the skin is tightened around the new contours. There are several benefits to a combination approach to plastic surgery. One is that you get remarkable results. The other is that you get those results without additional downtime.

What Procedures are Included in a Mommy Makeover?

The Mommy Makeover treatment process was developed to address the areas that are commonly affected the most by pregnancy and nursing. That said, we must point out that the Mommy Makeover treatment can be ideal for any woman who is interested in reviving the appearance of her breast and midsection area! The techniques that may be involved in a Mommy Makeover include breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, liposuction, and a tummy tuck.

Will the Scars from My Plastic Surgery Procedure be Noticeable?

All surgical procedures incur scarring. To minimize the cosmetic effects on your body, Dr. Carpin places incisions as inconspicuously as possible. The location and length of your incisions are discussed during your consultation. In nearly every case, surgical scars are either hidden in the natural creases of the body or are placed where scars are covered by clothing. It can take up to a year for surgical scars to mature completely. After the skin has healed, you can begin a scar treatment program using a special cream or silicone sheets to support optimal tissue remodeling.
